Anderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Prodigy: Invaders Must Die. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Hernando Anderson enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corpuz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Corpuz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Corpuz is looking for a kimura but Anderson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Corpuz to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson is trying to stand up here but Corpuz is controlling him well.

Anderson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Corpuz wants to pass to mount but Anderson is defending the position.

and Corpuz counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard.
Corpuz pushes down on Anderson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Anderson controlling the position for now.
Corpuz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Corpuz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Anderson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Corpuz has hold of Anderson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Anderson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Corpuz fails to advance to Anderson's back.

Corpuz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Anderson turns into him and now he's in Corpuz's guard.

Corpuz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Anderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Corpuz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Anderson's back instead.
Corpuz is breathing heavily.

Corpuz is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Corpuz has his opponent's back but Anderson is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Corpuz.
Anderson lands with a cross.

and Anderson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
