Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Corpuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Corpuz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Genki Sudo!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corpuz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sudo fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sudo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sudo feints and as Corpuz raises his hands in defense, Sudo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Corpuz is on top in guard.
Sudo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Corpuz wants to improve his position but Sudo is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sudo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Corpuz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sudo.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sudo tries to clinch but Corpuz is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sudo misses with a series of wild punches.

and Sudo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Corpuz!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Corpuz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Sudo counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Corpuz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sudo stacks Corpuz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sudo!

Corpuz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Corpuz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sudo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Corpuz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sudo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Corpuz has his foot on Sudo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sudo works his way back into a safe position though.
Sudo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sudo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corpuz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Corpuz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sudo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sudo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Corpuz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sudo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Corpuz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sudo should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Corpuz has tightened it up now! Sudo should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
