Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hudson comes to the cage accompanied by Roll Over DJ. Dixon has chosen The Clash - I Fought The Law as his entrance music. Peter Dixon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hudson throws a hook but Dixon avoids it easily.

Hudson clinches with his opponent.
Dixon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hudson has him pressed against the cage.

Hudson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dixon uses from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hudson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dixon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dixon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hudson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dixon is fending him off so far but Hudson persists. Nope, Dixon circles away and we're back to standing.

Hudson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dixon tries to avoid it but Hudson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dixon to the ground. Dixon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dixon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hudson's head backwards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dixon enables Hudson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dixon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hudson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Dixon has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hudson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dixon looking to break Hudson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hudson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dixon will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

I really don't envy Hudson right now.

Dixon seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Hudson's chin but Hudson turns very nicely into Dixon's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Hudson.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A left lands for Dixon.
Dixon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dixon wants it to stay on the feet.
Hudson throws a combination that misses
and Hudson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hudson throws a jab when Dixon was well out of range.
Hudson throws a right and a left that Dixon avoids nicely.
Dixon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hudson as he jumps to the side.

Hudson closes the distance and clinches.

Dixon gets control of Hudson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dixon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Hudson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dixon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hudson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hudson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hudson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hudson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hudson has managed to get both his arms back between Dixon's legs - danger averted.

I would just about give that final round to Peter Dixon.
Well Dixon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
