The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua checks a leg kick.
Villar throws a right and a left that Rua avoids nicely.
Rua misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Villar.
Villar keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rua.
Villar scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Villar slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Villar scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Villar throws a leg kick
and Rua counters with a flying knee. Nice.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rua throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Villar dodges the punch combination from Rua.
Villar throws a series of strikes that have Rua backpedaling.

A slapping leg kick lands for Villar.
Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Villar circles away quickly and effectively.
Villar throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Villar tries a low kick but Rua avoids it.
Rua misses with a lunging right hand
and Villar counters with a left to the body.
Nice defenses there by Villar.
Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Villar. Villar obviously looking to wear him down.

and Villar counters with a low kick, right behind Rua 's knee.

Villar throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rua on the side of the head.
Villar is looking to score with low kicks.
Rua pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Villar lands a jab to Rua's midsection.
Villar sizes up Rua with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A nice inside leg kick there by Villar. That's going to slow Rua down.
Villar scores with a shot to the body.
Villar feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rua's calf.
Rua takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Rafael Rua has been cut.
Rua takes one to the chin there.

Villar misses with a few strikes there.
Villar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rua.
Villar attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Villar lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Rua sprawling to the canvas. Villar follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Rua hang on?

Rua is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Villar lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Rua! More strikes land and this one is all over! Villar jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
