The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanada tries for a takedown but Frink sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Frink had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanada defends it easily.

Sanada drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Frink dives on top into guard.

Sanada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frink doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frink manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Frink is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Inuie Sanada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sanada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frink's waist but Frink gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanada off to one side.

Frink walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Sanada drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Frink swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Sanada's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
