Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christian Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Plum Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Battle comes into the arena with Big L work blaring out of the sound system. Christian Battle has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Plum Bag!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bag counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bag working the strikes but Battle uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Bag throws a strike but Battle avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Bag trying to move into half guard but instead Battle has managed to sweep!
Bag avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bag avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Battle in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Battle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bag's head.
Battle with a flurry of punches that miss.
Battle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Battle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Battle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bag is looking to stand up but Battle isn't so interested in that idea.
Battle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Battle throws a big right hand that misses.

Battle prevents Bag from getting back to his feet.
Bag really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Battle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Battle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bag utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Battle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bag avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Battle throws a big elbow that misses.
Battle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Battle passes Bag's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Battle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bag's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Battle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bag defending well though.
Battle working the head and body with strikes.
Battle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bag is trying to stand up here but Battle is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bag can do anything to dispel that myth.
Battle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Battle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bag blocking the ground and pound attempt from Battle.
Bag is trying to stand up here but Battle is controlling him well.
Battle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bag defending well though.

Battle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bag does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Battle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Battle stops Bag from getting back to his feet.
Bag looks gassed!
Battle missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Bag avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Battle.
Battle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Battle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bag's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bag is trying to stand up here but Battle is controlling him well.
Bag keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Battle dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Battle looks to land a combination but Bag avoids it well.

Battle lands a left and a right that send Bag crashing to the mat, dazed. Battle thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Bag is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Battle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bag throws a head kick that misses.
Battle grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Bag takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Battle cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Christian Battle!
Christian Battle decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
