Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Luiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Shafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luiz thows a body shot but no joy.
Luiz wants to clinch up but Shafer keeps it at a distance.
Shafer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Luiz shoots in but Shafer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shafer closes the distance and clinches up with Luiz, looking for a takedown. Shafer pushes Luiz against the cage but Luiz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Luiz swats away the attempt to clinch by Shafer.

Luiz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Luiz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shafer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Luiz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shafer's head.

Shafer is trying to hold Luiz in close to prevent damage but Luiz has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Luiz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shafer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
William Shafer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Luiz.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Luiz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
