Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Diaz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kosaka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kosaka has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Diaz finds it's way round the side to connect with Kosaka's head.

Kosaka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Oh Kosaka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kosaka drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Kosaka off! Kosaka jumps back into Diaz's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kosaka wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kosaka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Diaz was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Diaz works over Kosaka's head and body with a nice combination.

Diaz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kosaka momentarily.

Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
