PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gar Diu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matsumae Sukeyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diu comes to the cage accompanied by Pulse. Matsumae Sukeyuki told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sukeyuki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Diu throws a head kick that Sukeyuki semi-blocks.

It looks like Matsumae Sukeyuki has been cut.
Diu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sukeyuki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diu.
Diu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sukeyuki takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Diu avoids the body shot from Sukeyuki .

Diu lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sukeyuki avoids the head kick by Diu.
Sukeyuki has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Diu finds it's way round the side to connect with Sukeyuki 's head.
Sukeyuki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Diu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sukeyuki sprawls well. Sukeyuki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diu gets slowly back to his feet.

and Diu counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sukeyuki 's knee momentarily.
Diu ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sukeyuki looks gassed!
Diu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Diu keeps the fight on the outside.
Diu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sukeyuki takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sukeyuki tries to close the distance and clinch but Diu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Diu connects with a leg kick. Sukeyuki looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Diu connects with a high kick.

That has opened up Matsumae Sukeyuki 's cut even more.
Diu moves away from the strike by Sukeyuki .
Sukeyuki throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sukeyuki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diu circles away.

Diu connects with a body shot.

and Diu counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Matsumae Sukeyuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sukeyuki has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Diu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Diu counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sukeyuki 's knee momentarily.
Diu lands with a right hand.

The cut above Matsumae Sukeyuki 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Diu lands with a kick to the temple. Sukeyuki shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Sukeyuki is rocked!
Diu feints and then cracks Sukeyuki 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sukeyuki down.
Sukeyuki is still on wobbly legs! Can Diu finish him?
Diu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sukeyuki walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Sukeyuki limp body while Diu jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
