Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Stumpp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Aleksander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stumpp comes to the cage accompanied by Symphony Of Destruction. The crowd seem to be enjoying Aleksander's choice of entrance music: Backbone - Gojira. Ivan Aleksander has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Peter Stumpp's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Aleksander!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stumpp has his takedown stuffed
enabling Aleksander to counter with a crisp jab.
Stumpp with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Stumpp uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aleksander.
Stumpp fails with a takedown attempt.
Stumpp shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aleksander sprawls well. Aleksander wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stumpp gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Stumpp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Aleksander lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Aleksander tries a body shot but Stumpp blocks it.

A lull in the action here as Stumpp stalls from top position.
Stumpp is putting a hurting on Aleksander here, landing some big shots from side control.
Aleksander really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stumpp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aleksander can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stumpp controlling the pace.
Stumpp stops Aleksander from getting back to his feet.
Aleksander keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stumpp thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aleksander's head.
Stumpp wants to take a breather but Aleksander is having none of it.

Aleksander is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stumpp's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stumpp's back!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Stumpp turns into Aleksander and is now in his guard.

Stumpp wants to control from the top but Aleksander keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stumpp slips nicely into half guard.
Stumpp has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Stumpp lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stumpp postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Aleksander looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stumpp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aleksander is looking to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Stumpp is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Aleksander has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Aleksander is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Stumpp dominated that round.

Stumpp shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Stumpp wants to control the pace but Aleksander is squirming around nicely.
Stumpp landing strikes from the mount and Aleksander is in trouble!
Stumpp lands a big shot there that rocks Aleksander but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stumpp looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Stumpp is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Aleksander to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Aleksander shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aleksander is desperately trying to improve his position but Stumpp has a good base and remains in mount.
Stumpp scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Aleksander is in a horrible position here. Stumpp smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Stumpp lands a big shot there that rocks Aleksander but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Peter Stumpp overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Aleksander is still in real trouble! Can Stumpp finish him?
