The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorneberry lands the left hand.

It looks like Purple Seventeen has been cut.
Thorneberry throws a head kick that misses.
Thorneberry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Thorneberry missing with a left hand there. Seventeen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Seventeen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thorneberry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Seventeen somewhat.

Thorneberry does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Thorneberry lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Seventeen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thorneberry, pushing him back against the cage.

Seventeen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thorneberry misses with an uppercut. Seventeen saw that one coming.
Matt Thorneberry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice straight punches there by Thorneberry. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Thorneberry.

Seventeen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thorneberry tries to avoid it but Seventeen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thorneberry to the ground. Thorneberry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Seventeen drops his hands momentarily and Thorneberry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Seventeen shoots in looking for a takedown. Thorneberry tries to sprawl out of it but Seventeen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thorneberry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thorneberry lands a big head kick that sends Seventeen tumbling to the mat! Thorneberry takes a step backwards and waves Seventeen back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Seventeen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Seventeen looks for a takedown but Thorneberry sprawls well.
Oh Seventeen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Thorneberry moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Seventeen! Thorneberry continues to tee off on Seventeen, landing with a left and a right! Thorneberry connects with a right hand that leaves Seventeen sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Thorneberry!
