Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenn Benton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Glenn Benton!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersen misses with a hook. Benton ducked under it nicely.
Benton throws a low kick but Andersen moves out of range easily.

Andersen clinches with his opponent.
Andersen has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Benton after a bit of a struggle.
Andersen is trying to force a seperation but Benton has the dominant position.
Andersen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Andersen misses with a short punch on the inside.

Andersen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Benton uses from the top position.
Andersen has a closed guard, preventing Benton from standing up.
Andersen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Andersen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Andersen is on top in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Andersen is nestled in close to Benton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klaus Andersen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Andersen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Benton walks away with a smile on his face. Andersen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Klaus Andersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Andersen looks to throw the jab but Benton is out of range.

Andersen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Benton but Benton pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Benton fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Andersen checks it well.

Benton comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Andersen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Andersen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Andersen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Benton as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaus Andersen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

letting Benton counter with a right hand.
Benton throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Andersen on the side of the head.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Andersen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Benton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Benton lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Andersen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Benton can't fight it off and eventually Andersen manages to take the fight to the floor. Benton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Benton wants to stand and escape but Andersen is having none of it.
Benton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Andersen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Benton can do anything to dispel that myth.

We're going to have a standup here because Klaus Andersen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Andersen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Benton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Benton wants to get back to striking at distance but Andersen won't allow it.
Benton changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Andersen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Klaus Andersen will probably get the nod.

Benton lands a leg kick that knocks Andersen off balance momentarily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Andersen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benton scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
