Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Hosea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hosea comes to the cage accompanied by Busta Rhymes - Break Ya Neck. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Hosea or perhaps it was just good defense by Sonnen which made him look bad.
Sonnen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sonnen wants it to stay on the feet.
Hosea misses with a head kick.
Hosea throws a lazy head kick
and Sonnen counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hosea doesn't manage to clinch there - Sonnen circles away.
Sonnen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sonnen throws a nice head kick!
Hosea feints and as Sonnen raises his hands in defense, Hosea changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sonnen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hosea off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Sonnen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hosea is fending him off so far but Sonnen persists. Nope, Hosea circles away and we're back to standing.
Hosea gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sonnen counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Hosea. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hosea is breathing heavily.
Sonnen shoots in but no luck this time.
Daniel Hosea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sonnen closes the distance and clinches up with Hosea, looking for a takedown. Sonnen pushes Hosea against the cage but Hosea circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sonnen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sonnen gets caught flat footed, as Hosea shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hosea decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hosea darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sonnen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sonnen stands up and beckons Hosea to join him on the feet.

Hosea is staying active underneath Sonnen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hosea kicks Sonnen off and gets back to his feet.

Sonnen looks to land a combination but Hosea avoids it well.
Hosea connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hosea misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sonnen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sonnen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hosea is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sonnen is controlling him.
Sonnen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hosea thows a body kick. Sonnen tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Sonnen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hosea pushes Sonnen off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hosea throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Sonnen dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hosea fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sonnen manages to avoid it.
Hosea throws a head kick that misses.
Hosea tries for a takedown but Sonnen circles away easily
and Sonnen counters with a shoot takedown. Hosea fights it but they end up in guard.
Sonnen gets to his feet - Hosea follows without any prompting.
Sonnen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hosea throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hosea shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sonnen sprawls well. Sonnen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hosea gets slowly back to his feet.
Sonnen connects with a leg kick. Hosea looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hosea takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hosea takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Sonnen fails with a takedown attempt.
Hosea slaps away a takedown attempt from Sonnen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sonnen dives in and scores a takedown into Hosea's guard.
Sonnen prevents Hosea from getting back to his feet.
Sonnen wants to pass the guard but Hosea is keeping the position.
Hosea wants to get back to his feet but Sonnen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sonnen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hosea works Sonnen's body with a nice hook.
Hosea darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sonnen is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hosea tries to pass to full mount but Sonnen defends it.
Hosea prevents Sonnen from improving his position.

Hosea looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sonnen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hosea throwing shots but Sonnen is blocking nicely.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sonnen.
Daniel Hosea has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Sonnen.
Sonnen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hosea paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sonnen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hosea throws a head kick but Sonnen moves out of range.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sonnen checks a leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hosea misses with a head kick.
Sonnen gets a clinch.
Sonnen putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hosea in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Sonnen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hosea fails with the takedown.
Sonnen looks for a takedown but Hosea sprawls well.

Sonnen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hosea looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sonnen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hosea, who protects the arm well.

Hosea bucks up and tries to throw Sonnen off but instead Sonnen has got his back!
Hosea wants to get back to his feet.
