The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melphy closes the distance looking to clinch

so Jardine counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Melphy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jardine is controlling him.
Jardine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kieth Jardine just wasn't active enough.
Melphy is looking to clinch but Jardine is avoiding it.
Mark Melphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Melphy wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Jardine's closed guard. He's half up but Jardine has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Jardine pivots and extends the arm, Melphy falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Jardine! Well done that man!
