PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Average Joe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
King shoots in for a takedown but Joe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Joe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from King.
King is looking to land body kicks.
King dives in and grabs Joe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joe pushes down on King's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Joe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
King can't do much from the bottom here.

Joe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

King is bucking up trying to escape but Joe cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King wants to hold on but Joe pushes him away.

Average Joe dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Joe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.

Joe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to King's temple.
Joe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Joe has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of King's face.
Joe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Average Joe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Well Joe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
