Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Po Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Ricard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping's entrance music is Kung Fu Fighting. A fine choice. Ricard has chosen Frank The Tank as his entrance music. Po Ping could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank Ricard's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Ricard!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ping wants to clinch up but Ricard keeps it at a distance.
A nice combination there by Ricard.


It looks like Po Ping has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ricard lands a nice looking body shot.
Ricard looks for a takedown but Ping sprawls well.
Ping shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ricard as he jumps to the side.

Ricard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ping on his heels. He'll look to pass Ping's guard now, I'm sure.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ping wants to stand and escape but Ricard is having none of it.
Ping manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ricard manages to get himself to full guard.

Ricard pushes Ping off and gets back to his feet.
Ricard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ping moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ricard throws a right hand that Ping ducks under and follows up with a left that Ping also avoids with ease.

Ricard turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ricard manages to end up in side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ricard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ping sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Ping is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ping knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ricard on the ground.
Ricard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
