Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Coles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Kopstoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dennis Coles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Kopstoot!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopstoot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kopstoot wants it to stay on the feet.
Kopstoot tries a head kick but it misses.
Coles shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Coles defending well as Kopstoot loads up on a big left hand.
Kopstoot doesn't manage to clinch there - Coles circles away.
Kopstoot throws out a loose jab but Coles uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kopstoot thows a leg kick but Coles checks it

and Coles counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Coles moves nicely into side control.
Coles taking a breather here.

Coles tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Coles decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kopstoot to his feet.
Coles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kopstoot.

Kopstoot stuffs the takedown.

Kopstoot fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kopstoot stuffs the takedown attempt from Coles. Coles gets slowly back to his feet.
Kopstoot scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Dennis Coles has been cut.
Coles shoots in looking for a takedown but Kopstoot manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Coles's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kopstoot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Coles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Coles throws a series of punches but Kopstoot avoids them all with ease.
Kopstoot is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Coles fails to land the takedown.

Coles forces Kopstoot back against the cage and clinches.
Coles has Kopstoot pressed against the cage, preventing Kopstoot from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kopstoot is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Coles is defending well for now.

Coles wants the takedown. Kopstoot is fighting it off but Coles persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kopstoot's guard against the cage.

Kopstoot is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coles is controlling him.
Coles is fighting to break Kopstoot's control of his arms but Kopstoot is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Coles gets to his feet. Kopstoot looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Coles instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Coles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kopstoot swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kopstoot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coles paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kopstoot slaps away a takedown attempt from Coles, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Coles clinches up with Kopstoot and pushes him back against the cage.
Coles jumps guard but Kopstoot turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Kopstoot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kopstoot fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kopstoot wants to break the clinch but can't.
Coles has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kopstoot avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kopstoot is pressed up against the cage. Coles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kopstoot down to the mat. Kopstoot avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kopstoot just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kopstoot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kopstoot tries to clinch but Coles is having none of it.
Kopstoot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coles paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Coles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Coles checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Kopstoot moves in looking to clinch but Coles pushes him off.

Kopstoot throws a shot from downtown. Coles moves away and avoids it.
Coles tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kopstoot swivels and escapes.
Coles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kopstoot.
Kopstoot misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kopstoot stuffs the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Coles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kopstoot misses with a looping right.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coles pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kopstoot tries to pull guard but Coles forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kopstoot jumps guard and drags Coles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kopstoot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kopstoot wants to stand up but Coles is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dennis Coles just wasn't active enough.
Kopstoot keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Coles connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Coles goes for a takedown attempt but Kopstoot pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Dave Kopstoot seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Coles shoots in looking for a takedown. Kopstoot tries to sprawl out of it but Coles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kopstoot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kopstoot throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Coles tries a head kick but it misses.

Coles clinches up with Kopstoot and pushes him back against the cage.
Kopstoot can't break the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Coles - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kopstoot has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dave Kopstoot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Coles tries to pull guard but Kopstoot forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Coles blocks an elbow strike.
Kopstoot doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Coles manages to break the clinch.
Dennis Coles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kopstoot misses with a hook. Coles ducked under it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dennis Coles showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coles, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
