Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliveira comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eddie Bravo SMOKE SERPENT "Jiu Jitsu" feat. Rakaa kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Paulo Oliveira has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Oliveira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliveira off to one side.

Oliveira is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Silva scores with a couple of nice shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silva in particular looking to stall.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva cracks Oliveira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Oliveira for as long as he can get away with.

A determined Antonio Silva didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
