Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ferdinand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eduardo comes to the cage accompanied by Numb. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Bob Ferdinand enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Eduardo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Ferdinand!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eduardo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Eduardo throws a head kick that Ferdinand semi-blocks.


It looks like Bob Ferdinand has been cut.
Eduardo tries to close the distance and clinch but Ferdinand swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ferdinand fails with a takedown attempt.
Eduardo misses with a head kick.
Eduardo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Eduardo misses with a few strikes there.
Eduardo lands with a thumping leg kick.

Eduardo moves into the clinch.
Eduardo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ferdinand.

Eduardo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A solid leg kick lands there for Eduardo.
Ferdinand avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Eduardo tries to clinch up but Ferdinand circles away and keeps his distance.
Eduardo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ferdinand checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Carlos Eduardo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Eduardo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ferdinand's calf.

Ferdinand drives through with a takedown into Eduardo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ferdinand is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Eduardo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Eduardo has escaped and now he's on top!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Eduardo in particular looking to stall.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Eduardo is trying to control. Ferdinand wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carlos Eduardo just wasn't active enough.
Eduardo tries to clinch but Ferdinand is having none of it.
Eduardo moves in looking to clinch but Ferdinand pushes him off.

Eduardo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Eduardo is looking to clinch.

Eduardo has closed the distance and engaged Ferdinand in a clinch.
Eduardo throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ferdinand takes a knee to the side of the body.
Eduardo looking to throw knees to the head but Ferdinand is blocking nicely.
Eduardo prevents the takedown attempt.
Ferdinand jumps guard but Eduardo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Carlos Eduardo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Ferdinand.
Ferdinand changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Eduardo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Eduardo wants to clinch up but Ferdinand keeps it at a distance.

Eduardo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Eduardo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Eduardo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ferdinand manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Eduardo lands a front kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Eduardo scores with a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Eduardo. No joy for Ferdinand on that attempt.
Ferdinand avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Bob Ferdinand's cut.
That's time! Eduardo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ferdinand closes the distance and clinches up with Eduardo, looking for a takedown. Ferdinand pushes Eduardo against the cage but Eduardo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ferdinand checks the leg kick nicely there.
Carlos Eduardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Eduardo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Eduardo tries to land knees in the clinch but Ferdinand avoids the damage to the body.

Eduardo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Eduardo tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Ferdinand counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ferdinand is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ferdinand passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Ferdinand is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Eduardo looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ferdinand gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Eduardo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ferdinand lets go of the hold and Eduardo can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bob Ferdinand!
Bob Ferdinand bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
