The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev drops his hands momentarily and Szymkowiak takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Azhiev is looking to clinch.
Szymkowiak connects with a nice looking jab.
Szymkowiak throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Azhiev on the side of the head.

The fight stays on the outside here - Azhiev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Szymkowiak fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Azhiev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Azhiev jumps guard but Szymkowiak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
