PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winston McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCall comes to the cage accompanied by Parkway Drive - Sleepwalker. Hector Lopez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCall blocks a head kick by Lopez.
McCall throws a nice looking combination but Lopez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McCall keeps the fight on the outside.

Lopez rushes McCall and presses him up against the cage.
Lopez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning McCall up against the cage.

Lopez manages to pull guard.
Lopez is trying to keep McCall in close.
Lopez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lopez pulls McCall in close to his closed guard and prevents McCall from doing any damage or advancing position.
McCall won't allow Lopez to get back to his feet.

McCall throwing strikes but missing.
Lopez keeping moving, preventing McCall from controlling successfully.
McCall looking to sit in guard and control but Lopez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lopez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McCall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lopez defends well.
Lopez throws a big right hand that misses.

McCall looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lopez is defending well. McCall quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lopez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! McCall celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
