Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Vengrio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian McGordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vengrio comes to the cage accompanied by Muay Thai. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vengrio lands with a nice combination. McGordon backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Brian McGordon has been cut.
McGordon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vengrio circles away.

Vengrio clinches.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGordon looks to throw the jab but Vengrio is out of range.
McGordon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McGordon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vengrio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGordon somewhat.

and McGordon counters with a nice uppercut.
Vengrio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A telegraphed right hand from McGordon misses the target.

Vengrio tries to keep at a distance but McGordon has taken the fight into the clinch.
McGordon avoids the elbow strike from Vengrio, against the cage.
Vengrio stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Vengrio just misses with a elbow thrown towards McGordon's brow.
Vengrio tries to land knees in the clinch but McGordon avoids the damage to the body.
Vengrio unloads a knee to the mid-section. McGordon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Vengrio has McGordon pushed against the cage.

Vengrio wants to stall.

McGordon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vengrio prevents the takedown attempt.
McGordon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vengrio pulls his leg out and moves away.
McGordon avoids the head kick by Vengrio.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Vengrio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McGordon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vengrio throws the left hand but McGordon avoids the punch easily.
Arthur Vengrio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGordon looks to score with a jab to the body but Vengrio is just out of range.
Arthur Vengrio is winning the standup battle so far.
Vengrio lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Vengrio just misses with a punch to the body.
McGordon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vengrio can pounce on him.
Vengrio moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McGordon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McGordon is breathing heavily.

Vengrio lands a big head kick that sends McGordon tumbling to the mat! Vengrio takes a step backwards and waves McGordon back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McGordon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vengrio circles away.
Vengrio looks to land a left hand but McGordon moved out of range nicely.

McGordon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vengrio steps in with a hook that catches McGordon right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Vengrio follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! McGordon looks absolutely devastated.
