PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sig Hemmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Druff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Druff is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mother *uckers. Dan Druff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sig Hemmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Druff!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Druff gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hemmer counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Hemmer closes the distance and pushes Druff back into the cage.
Hemmer lands a body shot.
Druff takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Dan Druff has been cut.
Druff is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hemmer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hemmer pulls Druff into guard.
Hemmer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hemmer being controlled here, momentarily.
Druff passes Hemmer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Druff stops Hemmer from getting back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Druff seems to be looking for submissions.

Druff is looking for a kimura but Hemmer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Druff to get the leverage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hemmer wants to control but Druff is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Druff is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hemmer is just riding it out for now. Druff eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hemmer manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Druff drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hemmer dives on top into guard.

Druff looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Druff can't keep his opponent in guard - Hemmer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Druff wants to improve his position but Hemmer is controlling well.

Druff looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Druff is trying to maintain the position but Hemmer is very close to passing his half guard.
Druff gets back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Druff has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hemmer has passed into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hemmer working away.
Druff tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hemmer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Druff is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hemmer off and has taken his back!

Druff has got his arm under Hemmer's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Hemmer has spun round into Druff's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Druff working for a triangle but Hemmer defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hemmer wants to stand but Druff is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hemmer gets to his feet. Druff looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hemmer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hemmer has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sig Hemmer will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dan Druff's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Druff with a poor takedown
and Druff takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Druff shoots and misses
and Hemmer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Druff fails with the takedown

and Hemmer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sig Hemmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Druff.
Hemmer is pressed up against the cage. Druff has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hemmer down to the mat. Hemmer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jab by Hemmer.
Sig Hemmer is winning the standup battle so far.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hemmer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Druff.

Hemmer pulls guard successfully.
Hemmer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Druff is looking to advance position but Hemmer has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Druff tries to hold on but Hemmer postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hemmer controlling from the full mount.
Druff working to try and regain half guard.
Hemmer looking to control but Druff is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Druff is looking to improve his position but Hemmer isn't that keen on the idea.
Hemmer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Druff sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Druff avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hemmer.
Druff is trying to control but can't.

Sig Hemmer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Druff has his takedown stuffed
and Hemmer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Druff is breathing heavily.

Hemmer drops Druff with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Druff looks back up at him and smiles so Hemmer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hemmer fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Druff out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Sig Hemmer!
