PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tarzan Taborda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonard Stam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taborda comes to the cage accompanied by New Noise by Refused. Stam is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Tony Iommi - Grace. Leonard Stam told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Tarzan Taborda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonard Stam!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stam uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Taborda.
Stam bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stam moves out of range of the strikes.

Stam clinches up with Taborda and pushes him back against the cage.
Stam drops down looking for an ankle pick but Taborda pulls his leg out and moves away.
Stam is looking to clinch but Taborda is avoiding it.
Taborda fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice uppercut there from Taborda.
Taborda throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stam on the side of the head.

Taborda rushes Stam and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Taborda gets through Stam's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Taborda lands a nice shot that snaps Stam's head back.
Stam tries to clinch up but Taborda circles away and keeps his distance.

Taborda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Taborda can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stam is looking to escape.

Taborda gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Taborda fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stam, pushing him back against the cage.
Taborda lands a hook to the side of the head.
Taborda gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Stam.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Taborda creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Taborda just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stam's brow.
Stam jumps guard but Taborda turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Stam takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taborda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Taborda catches Stam napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Stam to the canvas!

Taborda stands up from Stam's guard - Taborda perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stam is still on wobbly legs! Can Taborda finish him?

Taborda fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stam to the ground. Taborda is now in Stam's guard.

Taborda flashes Stam a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Stam's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Stam crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Taborda punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
