Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bogey James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Gable is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bogey James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Gable!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gable defends it nicely.
Gable steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James.
James dives in and grabs Gable's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gable pushes down on James's head and hops out.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Gable, looking for a takedown. James pushes Gable against the cage but Gable circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bogey James. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gable gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows James to score an easy takedown into full guard.
James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
James postures up in Gable's guard and throws a big left but Gable blocks it.
Gable looking for a sweep. Not yet Gable, not yet.
James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gable works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
James throws an elbow that misses. Gable uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in James's guard. Nice move by Gable!

Gable lands a couple of elbows.
Gable working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Gable has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
James wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gable trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gable lands a couple of elbows.
Gable working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gable trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

James is trying to maintain the position but Gable is very close to passing his half guard.

James tries to get to full guard but Gable has control of the leg.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gable lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gable thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed James's head.
Gable uses his free foot to push down on James's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for James.

James is breathing heavily.
Gable looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has James covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

After the fight, Dan Gable was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
