The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Monster both land. Nice combination.
Monster leaves Papadopoulos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Papadopoulos drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Papadopoulos dives in and grabs Monster's left leg, looking for a takedown. Monster pushes down on Papadopoulos's head and hops out.
Monster scores with a three punch combo!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Papadopoulos shoots for a double leg takedown but Monster sprawls well. He's pushed Papadopoulos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vlad Monster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ghiorghos Papadopoulos.
Oooooh!!! Monster has knocked Papadopoulos down with a huge combo! Monster steps away and waves a wobbly Papadopoulos back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Ghiorghos Papadopoulos has been cut.
Papadopoulos shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Monster napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Monster is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Papadopoulos has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Monster parries the strikes from Papadopoulos easily there. Papadopoulos is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Monster to escape.
Papadopoulos fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Monster is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Papadopoulos asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Monster is breathing heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Papadopoulos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Monster some visible discomfort.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Papadopoulos cracks Monster with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Papadopoulos creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Monster is rocked!
A big shot lands for Papadopoulos! That's hurt Monster! Will he recover? Papadopoulos fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ghiorghos Papadopoulos was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
