Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zeth Saarsgard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saarsgard's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, A Perfect Circle - Passive. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saarsgard.
Nick Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saarsgard slaps away a takedown attempt from Penn, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Saarsgard struggles to land a body shot inside as Penn controls his hands.
Penn has Saarsgard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Saarsgard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Saarsgard has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Penn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zeth Saarsgard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saarsgard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Penn has him pressed against the cage.

Saarsgard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Saarsgard avoids a punch combination nicely.
Saarsgard fails to land with a series of punches.
Penn leaves Saarsgard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Saarsgard lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Nick Penn has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saarsgard tries to bum rush Penn with a series of wild strikes but Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Penn checks the leg kick nicely there.
Saarsgard misses with a double jab.

Penn scores with a takedown into Saarsgard's guard.

Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Penn prevents Saarsgard from getting back to his feet.

Penn drops back looking for a leg! Saarsgard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Saarsgard manages to kick Penn off! Penn jumps back into Saarsgard's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Penn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Penn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Penn chips away with some ground and pound.

Saarsgard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Penn won't allow Saarsgard to sweep him here.

Penn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Penn prevents Saarsgard from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Penn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saarsgard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Penn distracts Saarsgard with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Penn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Penn stops Saarsgard from standing up.

Penn is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Saarsgard has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Penn is looking to defend but Saarsgard has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Penn! Saarsgard pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Penn taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Zeth Saarsgard!
A relieved looking Zeth Saarsgard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
