The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asai's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cheesara connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Asai scrambles back to his feet.
Cheesara throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Tetsuhiko Asai has been cut.

Asai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cheesara swivels and escapes.
Asai scores with the left hand. Cheesara knows he should have avoided that one.
Tetsuhiko Asai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Asai or perhaps it was just good defense by Cheesara which made him look bad.

Asai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cheesara paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A head kick from Cheesara lands but Asai takes it in his stride.
Cheesara blocks a head kick by Asai.
Asai tries a head kick but it misses.
Cheesara jabs at Asai's body.
Asai is breathing heavily.
Asai lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Cheesara wants to land a leg kick but Asai is out of range.

Cheesara attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Cheesara lands with a nice body punch.
Cheesara sizes up Asai with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Asai shoots in looking for a takedown. Cheesara tries to sprawl out of it but Asai keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cheesara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tetsuhiko Asai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
