Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Dylan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jasper Stride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Dylan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Dylan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jasper Stride!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dylan is looking to clinch.

Dylan moves into the clinch.

Dylan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stride scores with a jab to the body.
Some bone on bone action there as Stride checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Stride throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Sloppy strikes from Stride. Those never looked like landing.
Stride misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dylan.
Stride fails to land with a series of punches.
Dylan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Stride with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Dylan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stride tries to avoid it but Dylan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stride to the ground. Stride escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stride takes a swing at Dylan's ribcage but misses.
Stride digs a good body shot into Dylan's ribs.

Dylan gets tackled into the cage by Stride. Stride maintains the clinch.

Stride escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fighters circling - Stride throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Nice body punch from Stride.
Stride lands a right hook to the body.
Stride keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dylan throws a nice looking combination but Stride bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dylan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Stride attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Stride pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dylan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stride checks it well.
Stride tries to clinch there but Dylan circles away.
Stride takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dylan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stride.

Dylan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dylan throws a quick inside leg kick.

Stride dips to his left and cracks Dylan with an uppercut!
Stride jabs Dylan right on the nose. Dylan blinks but takes it well.
Stride wants to clinch up but Dylan keeps it at a distance.
Jasper Stride is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dylan scores with a one two! Stride had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Stride lands a nice hook to Dylan's body. Dylan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Dylan gets tackled into the cage by Stride. Stride maintains the clinch.

Dylan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dylan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dylan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Stride is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dylan has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dylan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stride keeps working.
Stride pushes Dylan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dylan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Dylan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stride being controlled for a moment.
Dylan in side control, throwing shots but Stride defends.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stride can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dylan staying calm.
Dylan trying to control the action but Stride is working from the bottom.

Stride wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sloppy strikes there by Dylan.
Dylan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dylan slows the pace down.
Stride tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jasper Stride dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Dylan clinches up against the cage.
Stride is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stride creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Dylan tries to land knees in the clinch but Stride avoids the damage to the body.
Stride has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Stride blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dylan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Stride has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stride pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stride throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Dylan to counter with a crisp jab.
Dylan thows a body shot but no joy.
Dylan throws a right hand that Stride ducks under and follows up with a left that Stride also avoids with ease.
Stride fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stride throws a jab but it's blocked by Dylan.

Stride gets caught flat footed, as Dylan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Stride is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dylan is controlling him.
Stride is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dylan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dylan pushes down on Stride's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Stride keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dylan slows the pace down in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dylan connects with a nice short shot to Stride's temple.
Stride tries to kick Dylan off but Dylan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Dylan wants to free his trapped foot but Stride is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dylan not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Dylan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dylan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stride's head.

Stride is staying active underneath Dylan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dylan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stride pushes Dylan off looking to stand but Dylan dives back in and keeps control.
Dylan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Stride is trying to stand back up but Dylan is controlling him
Dylan is keen to just control but Stride is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dylan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Daniel Dylan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dylan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Dylan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stride sprawls well. Stride wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dylan gets slowly back to his feet.
Dylan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
No joy there for Stride, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dylan keeps the fight on the outside.
A punch combination from Stride misses.
Dylan tries to bum rush Stride with a series of wild strikes but Stride uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stride takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A nice combination there by Stride.
Dylan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stride throws out the jab.
Dylan misses with a few strikes there.
Jasper Stride seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dylan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dylan lands in his opponent's guard.

Stride keeping moving, preventing Dylan from controlling successfully.
Dylan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Stride wants to stand up but Dylan is controlling him.
Dylan throws a big elbow that misses.
Dylan is in close to Stride's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dylan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Stride is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dylan is controlling him well.

Dylan is chipping away with strikes.
You can see the frustration on Stride's face as Dylan controls the position.
Dylan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stride keeps working.
Dylan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Dylan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stride knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Stride is trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
