Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Matviyenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Beckman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matviyenko's entrance music is Slaughter 2017 -Nin. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Beckman tries to clinch there but Matviyenko circles away.
Beckman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matviyenko circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Beckman is looking to break free of the clinch but Matviyenko has double underhooks.
Beckman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Beckman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Matviyenko.
Beckman is trying to pull guard but Matviyenko turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Matviyenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beckman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Beckman is fighting to break Matviyenko's control of his arms but Matviyenko is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Beckman throws a strike but Matviyenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Beckman has his foot on Matviyenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matviyenko works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matviyenko pushes Beckman off and gets back to his feet.
Beckman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Matviyenko closes the distance and clinches.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Matviyenko gets to his feet. Beckman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matviyenko darts in and clinches Beckman up against the cage.
Matviyenko keeps control of Beckman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Matviyenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mike Beckman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Matviyenko closes the distance and clinches up with Beckman, looking for a takedown. Matviyenko pushes Beckman against the cage but Beckman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Beckman is looking for a sweep. Matviyenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

and Matviyenko counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Matviyenko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Beckman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matviyenko sprawls well. Matviyenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Beckman gets slowly back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Matviyenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Beckman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Matviyenko moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Beckman.
Beckman wants to get back to his feet but Matviyenko drags him back down.
Beckman tries to improve position but can't.
Matviyenko tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ruslan Matviyenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Matviyenko lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Beckman down.

Matviyenko decides to stand up, so the ref orders Beckman to his feet.
Beckman throws a shot from downtown. Matviyenko moves away and avoids it.

Matviyenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beckman defends it easily.
Matviyenko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Matviyenko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Beckman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Beckman closes the distance and clinches up with Matviyenko, looking for a takedown. Beckman pushes Matviyenko against the cage but Matviyenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Matviyenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beckman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Beckman connects with a good right hand that stumbles Matviyenko. Matviyenko circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Matviyenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beckman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Beckman fails to land with a series of punches.

Matviyenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Matviyenko lands in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Matviyenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beckman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Matviyenko has managed to get both his arms back between Beckman's legs - danger averted.

Beckman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Matviyenko is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Beckman to the mat. Beckman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Beckman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Beckman.

Matviyenko is taking a breather. Beckman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Beckman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Matviyenko in particular looking to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Beckman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Matviyenko scores with a couple of nice shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ruslan Matviyenko showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Matviyenko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
