Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dodson is looking to control Lopez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dodson avoid being mounted?
Dodson won't allow Lopez to pass to mount.
Dodson is looking to get back to is feet but Lopez passes into side control.
Lopez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Dodson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lopez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dodson gets caught napping as Lopez dives in and scores a takedown. Dodson manages to retain guard.
Dodson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dodson is looking to stand up but Lopez isn't so interested in that idea.

Lopez has control of Dodson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dodson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lopez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dodson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

John Dodson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Lopez.
Dodson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lopez is proving hard to escape from.

Dodson is stalling here. Lopez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dodson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lopez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lopez postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Lopez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dodson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lopez is staying tight to Dodson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lopez stands up.
Lopez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dodson back to the cage. Lopez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dodson.
Lopez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dodson quickly recovers to half guard.

Lopez rushes Dodson and presses him up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lopez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dodson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dodson!

Lopez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dodson's guard.

Sonny Lopez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lopez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
