Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Milat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burza has chosen Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Milat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Burza!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milat connects with a jab.
Burza moves out of range as Milat strikes.
Burza chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Burza throws the kick towards the body but Milat avoids it.
Burza slips a jab from Milat.
Milat throws a body punch but Burza moves out of range.
Milat misses the shot to the body.
Burza closes the distance and clinches up with Milat, looking for a takedown. Burza pushes Milat against the cage but Milat circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Burza lands a jab to Milat's midsection.
Burza steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Milat.
Burza throws a right and a left that Milat avoids nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Milat displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burza throws out the jab.
Milat misses with a hook. Burza ducked under it nicely.
Milat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burza.
Burza fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Milat on the side of the head.
Milat misses with a straight left.
Burza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Milat sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burza somewhat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Burza.
Ivan Milat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Milat moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Burza looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Milat misses with an uppercut
and Burza counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Burza manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Milat on his heels. He'll look to pass Milat's guard now, I'm sure.

Milat pushes Burza off and scrambles back to his feet.
Milat has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Burza.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burza steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Milat.
Burza lands with a nice combination. Milat backs away looking to recover.
Milat bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Burza's head backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Milat throws a hook but Burza blocks it.
Burza has his takedown stuffed
and Milat counters with an inside leg kick.
Ivan Milat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Burza.
Milat swings widly with a right hand

and Burza counters with a single leg into guard. Milat didn't expect that.
Burza looking to pass the guard.
Burza is looking to advance position but Milat has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Burza blocking the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burza avoids a series of strikes thrown by Milat.
Poor strikes thrown by Milat there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Burza is wriggling around trying to escape.
Burza takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee warns Burza that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Burza is desperately trying to improve his position but Milat has a good base and remains in mount.
Burza is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Milat landing shots from mount.
Milat working the ground and pound effectively.

Burza gets back to half guard.
Burza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Milat looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burza with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Milat will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Milat scores with a sloppy right hand. Burza should have avoided that one.
Milat throws an overhand right that lands on Burza's shoulder, as Burza tries to avoid the shot.
Milat misses with an uppercut. Burza saw that one coming.
Milat looks to score with a jab to the body but Burza is just out of range.
Burza fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Milat throws a hook but Burza avoids it easily.
Milat throws a solid leg kick but Burza takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Milat.

Milat takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Milat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burza.
Milat throws a series of punches but Burza avoids them all with ease.
Milat scores with a punch to the head.
A big left from Milat misses.
Roman Burza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Milat.
Milat swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Milat takes one to the side of the head.
Milat digs a good body shot into Burza's ribs.

Milat scores with a jab. Burza acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Milat lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Burza out cold! Burza is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ivan Milat!
Ivan Milat decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
