Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sorgi Kartov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kartov comes into the arena with Coal Chamber - Loco blaring out of the sound system. Sorgi Kartov is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sorgi Kartov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kartov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hunter.
Kartov darts in trying to clinch

and Hunter counters by clinching up.
Hunter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hunter struggles to land a body shot inside as Kartov controls his hands.
A hook to the body from Hunter.
Kartov blocks a body shot from Hunter.
Hunter can't find room to land a body shot as Kartov controls the action.
Hunter lands a body shot.
Hunter just leaning against Kartov, taking a breather.

Kartov blocking some punches.
Hunter swings wildly with an uppercut but Kartov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hunter lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Hunter struggles to land a body shot inside as Kartov controls his hands.

Hunter has had enough of the clinch but Kartov keeps him there for the moment.

Hunter wants to break the clinch but can't.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Hunter digs a right hand into Kartov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kartov's gas tank.
Hunter has a couple of punches blocked by Kartov.

Hunter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hunter misses with a hook.
Hunter scores with a jab to the body.
Kartov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kartov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hunter rushes Kartov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kartov prevents a body shot from Hunter.
Hunter tries to break the clinch but Kartov is controlling the position.
Hunter stalling.
Kartov is trying to pull guard but Hunter has him pressed against the cage.

Hunter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hunter gets a clinch.
Hunter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kartov's elbow.
Hunter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hunter is pushing Kartov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hunter receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

Hunter tries to throw a body punch but Kartov avoids it by throwing Hunter back against the cage.
Hunter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hunter.
Hunter doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kartov is trying to pull guard but Hunter turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sorgi Kartov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kartov is trying to stall.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hunter lands with a right to the head.
Hunter misses with a body punch.

Travis Hunter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hunter walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kartov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Kartov forces Hunter back against the cage and clinches.
Kartov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hunter's efforts to push away.

Kartov successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kartov keeping full guard, as Hunter tries to pass.
Hunter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hunter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hunter postures up in Kartov's guard and throws a big left but Kartov blocks it.
Kartov is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hunter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hunter scoring with punches to the head and body.
Hunter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kartov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kartov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hunter is looking for a triangle but Kartov pushes his legs off easily.
Hunter throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kartov postures up.
Hunter wants to sweep but no luck.

Hunter has his foot on Kartov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kartov works his way back into a safe position though.

Hunter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hunter throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kartov uses it to pass to side control.
Hunter tries to bench press Kartov off him but Kartov keeps the position.
Hunter is not content to let Kartov control the position.

Kartov tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Hunter gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hunter wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Hunter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Kartov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hunter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kartov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hunter darts in and clinches Kartov up against the cage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kartov.

and Kartov counters by clinching up.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kartov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kartov is trying to pull guard but Hunter turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Travis Hunter seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Kartov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hunter walks away with a smile on his face. Kartov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sorgi Kartov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hunter misses with an uppercut.
Kartov is looking to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hunter. Kartov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kartov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hunter connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kartov scrambles back to his feet.

Hunter closes the distance and pushes Kartov back into the cage.
Kartov jumps guard but Hunter stands there with Kartov around his waist. Kartov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hunter swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hunter tries to circle away but Kartov has him pinned against the cage.
Kartov looking to stall.
Hunter misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kartov jumps guard but Hunter stands there with Kartov around his waist. Kartov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Travis Hunter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hunter goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hunter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kartov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kartov is looking to clinch but Hunter is avoiding it.

Hunter pushes Kartov up against the cage in a clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Kartov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kartov jumps guard but Hunter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
The referee calls for Kartov to work.

Travis Hunter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hunter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
