PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry The Hatchett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the ring accompanied by pride. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Hatchett shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice sprawl there from Smith as The Hatchett shoots in.
The Hatchett looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well.
Mr Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry The Hatchett.
Smith connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed The Hatchett momentarily.
Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from The Hatchett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Smith.
Smith misses with a double jab.

Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Smith gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The Hatchett to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The Hatchett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Smith controls The Hatchett momentarily but The Hatchett frees himself.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Hatchett on the ground.

The Hatchett trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith trying to keep a closed guard but The Hatchett is proving a slippery customer.
Smith is looking to stand up but The Hatchett isn't so interested in that idea.

The Hatchett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Hatchett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smith trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet.

Smith is working hard here to advance position.
The Hatchett passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The Hatchett is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Smith pushes The Hatchett off looking to stand but The Hatchett dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Smith is breathing heavily.
The Hatchett wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
Smith looks like he's trying to stand up.
The Hatchett passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Smith!
The Hatchett forces the positional change into back control.

The Hatchett is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Smith is tapping out! This one is all over!
