Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Masaki Sumitani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Didriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masaki Sumitani has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sven Didriksson!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumitani throws a low kick, looking for Didriksson's leg but Didriksson calmly moves out of range.
Sumitani throws an overhand right that lands on Didriksson's shoulder, as Didriksson tries to avoid the shot.
Sumitani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sumitani stuffs the takedown.
Didriksson shoots in looking for a takedown. Sumitani tries to sprawl out of it but Didriksson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sumitani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

so Didriksson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Didriksson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Didriksson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sumitani is looking to stand up but Didriksson isn't so interested in that idea.

Didriksson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sumitani manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Didriksson has Sumitani in his guard.

Didriksson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sumitani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sumitani manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sumitani misses with a wild body shot.

Didriksson shoots in for a takedown but Sumitani shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Masaki Sumitani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Didriksson.

Sumitani looks to score with a jab to the body but Didriksson is just out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Didriksson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Didriksson shoots in for a double leg but Sumitani sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sumitani throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sven Didriksson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sumitani throws a nice looking combination but Didriksson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Didriksson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sumitani's guard now.
Didriksson chips away with some ground and pound.

Didriksson is pushing down on Sumitani's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sumitani is fighting to maintain full guard but Didriksson has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sumitani wants to control but Didriksson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Didriksson is nestled in close to Sumitani, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sumitani tries to kick Didriksson off but Didriksson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Didriksson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Didriksson is trying for a kimura here. Sumitani looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Didriksson wins by kimura!
