Cordo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: UFC Theme Song. Tetsuhiko Asai could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eddy Cordo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cordo shoots in and drives through. Asai sprawls well.
Cordo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Asai swivels and escapes.
Asai pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Asai shoots for a double leg takedown but Cordo sprawls well. He's pushed Asai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cordo shoots in for a takedown but Asai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tetsuhiko Asai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddy Cordo.
Cordo lands a head kick!

It looks like Tetsuhiko Asai has been cut.

Asai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cordo's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Asai won't allow Cordo to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cordo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cordo has his feet on Asai's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Cordo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Asai pinned against the cage. Asai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cordo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Asai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Cordo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Asai leaves Cordo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Asai blocks a head kick by Cordo.
Asai throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cordo's head.

Cordo shoots in for a takedown but Asai shows good takedown defense.
Asai moves into range and connects with a jab.

Cordo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The referee warns Cordo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cordo is still in real trouble! Can Asai finish him?
Cordo is bucking up trying to escape but Asai cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Cordo is desperately trying to improve his position but Asai has a good base and remains in mount.
Asai scoring with strikes but Cordo is staying in there.
Asai connects with a bit shot that sees Cordo covering up! More strikes from Asai and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Asai is our winner by TKO!
