Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Yelton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Bonnie!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonnie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yelton can pounce on him.
Bonnie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bonnie scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bonnie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Yelton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bonnie did well to prevent Yelton getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bonnie wants to get back to his feet.

Yelton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bonnie trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Yelton manages to pass to mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bonnie can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bonnie's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Yelton with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Bonnie has left one of his arms exposed and Yelton doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bonnie screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
