Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matts Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matts Serra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skarbowsky tries to close the distance and clinch up but Serra swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Serra darts in and clinches Skarbowsky up against the cage.

Serra successfully pulls guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Serra is pulling down on Skarbowsky's head. It's preventing any offense from Skarbowsky, at least for the moment.
Skarbowsky wants to stand but Serra has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Skarbowsky is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Skarbowsky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Skarbowsky is looking to stand up but Serra won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Serra pulls Skarbowsky in to control the position.

Serra is looking to sinch up a triangle. Skarbowsky throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Serra's body to avoid the submission. Serra has instead reached around Skarbowsky's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Serra arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
