I think Faber might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rich Boy - Throw Some D's . Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Willingham!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willingham throws a lazy body kick

and Faber counters with a single leg into guard. Willingham didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Willingham looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Faber passes into half guard.
Faber is looking to advance position but Willingham won't allow it.

Willingham tries to kick Faber off but Faber keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Willingham wants to get back to full guard.
Faber looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chris Faber just wasn't active enough.

Faber throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Willingham tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Faber is in Willingham's guard.

Willingham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Faber manages to get himself to full guard.

Willingham might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Faber kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Patrick Willingham hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Willingham is looking to clinch.
Faber blocks a head kick by Willingham.

Willingham rushes Faber and presses him up against the cage.

Willingham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Willingham shoots in for a double leg but Faber sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Willingham wants to sweep here but Faber controlling him for the moment.
Faber is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Chris Faber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Faber counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Willingham!

Willingham is controlling an arm, preventing Faber from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Faber avoids the head kick by Willingham.

Faber shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Willingham manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Willingham is trying to control the position but Faber postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Willingham takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Faber moves out of range of the body kick.

Faber changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Willingham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Faber passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Willingham!
Faber wants to take Willingham's back but he can't do it this time.

Faber is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Willingham is forced to tap! Great finish!
