PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alvin Bensin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Kush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alvin Bensin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Master Kush!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bensin scores with a hook to the body. Kush takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kush throws a right and a left that Bensin avoids nicely.
Bensin swats away the attempt to clinch by Kush.
Kush blocks a jab.

Bensin tries to keep at a distance but Kush has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bensin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kush is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bensin just misses with a punch to the body.
Kush slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kush digs a good body shot into Bensin's ribs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kush throws a looping overhand right but Bensin ducks down to avoid it.
Kush lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Alvin Bensin has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Bensin. Those never looked like landing.
Kush showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bensin.
Bensin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kush's hands.
Bensin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kush. Kush circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bensin dodges the punch combination from Kush.
Kush misses with a series of wild punches.
Kush tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bensin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kush tries to clinch but Bensin moves out of range.
Kush tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bensin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kush dodges the punch combination from Bensin.
Kush uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bensin.

Kush closes the distance and pushes Bensin back into the cage.

Kush is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bensin can't fight it off and eventually Kush manages to take the fight to the floor. Bensin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bensin is trying to keep Kush in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bensin managing to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bensin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kush's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bensin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kush scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kush misses with a few strikes there.
Bensin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bensin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kush tries to clinch there but Bensin circles away.
No joy there for Bensin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bensin lands a nice looking body shot.
Bensin throws a jab but it's blocked by Kush.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kush looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bensin looks for the body kick but Kush saw that one coming.
Jab by Bensin.
Kush misses with the combination.
Kush fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kush wants to clinch
and Bensin counters with a stiff right hand.
Bensin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bensin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bensin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kush was well out of range. Poor timing from Bensin.
Bensin lands a two punch combo.


Kush is rocked!
Bensin cracks Kush with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kush tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bensin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kush is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alvin Bensin!
Post fight, Alvin Bensin stared into the camera and said 'I want to make a shout out to the guys at MMA Animal! Great guys with good gear! Check them out'.
