Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Smelly Fingers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Slater!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fingers moves away from the strike by Slater.
Slater misses with a shot to the body

and Fingers counters with a shoot takedown. Slater fights it but they end up in guard.
Slater preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Fingers with a flurry of punches that miss.
Slater avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fingers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fingers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Slater utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fingers throws a big elbow that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fingers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Slater is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fingers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Slater avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fingers trying to control but Slater is working from the bottom.
Fingers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slater has momentary wrist control but Fingers slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fingers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Slater manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fingers has Slater in his guard.

Fingers looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fingers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Slater won't allow Fingers to sweep him here.

Slater got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fingers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slater has managed to get both his arms back between Fingers's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slater has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fingers is proving hard to escape from.

Fingers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Slater stacks Fingers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Slater!
Fingers gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fingers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Fingers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slater can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fingers wants to sweep but no luck.

Fingers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slater doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slater manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slater wants to stand but Fingers is controlling his posture from full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smelly Fingers dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Fingers doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Slater counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fingers thinking.

It looks like Smelly Fingers has been cut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Smelly Fingers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slater looks to land a left hand but Fingers moved out of range nicely.

and Slater counters with a crisp right hand that drops Fingers! Slater lets Fingers back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Fingers is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slater scores with a hook to the body. Fingers takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Oh Fingers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Slater throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Slater fakes the body blow, causing Fingers to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Fingers goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
