The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Voit scores with a jab to the body.
Smith misses with a hook. Voit ducked under it nicely.
Voit uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith misses with a right hand
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Smith throws a low kick but Voit avoids it.
David Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Voit with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Voit throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Voit misses the shot to the body.
Smith lands with a nice combination. Voit backs away looking to recover.
Voit swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Smith misses with a hook.
Voit moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like David Smith has been cut.

Voit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.

A left and a right from Voit both land. Nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Voit throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Voit rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Smith lands a slapping body shot.
Smith throws an off balance right hand
and Voit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Voit tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith lunges at Voit with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Voit's hand.
Smith takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Voit cracks a nice hook into Smith's ribs.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Voit displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith.
Voit moves out of range of the strikes.
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Voit scores with a decent looking hook.
Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Voit cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Voit cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith throws a right hand that misses
and Voit counters with a series of strikes. Smith will be more careful next time no doubt.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Voit moves away and avoids it.
Smith scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Voit.
Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Voit throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range.
Smith walks into a jab.

Voit throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Voit scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Smith is rocked!
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Voit finish him?
Smith tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Voit counters with a huge left! Smith is in big trouble! He's backing up but Voit isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Smith from any more damage. A dominating finish by Voit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joey Voit!
