Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Brunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Lance Jackson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Brunner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lance Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Brunner. Brunner gets slowly back to his feet.
Brunner throws out a loose jab but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brunner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
Brunner takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.
Brunner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Brunner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jackson has time to react.

Jackson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brunner avoids the elbow strike from Jackson, against the cage.
Jackson gets underhooks to prevent Brunner's takedown attempt.
Jackson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Brunner.
Brunner managing to block the knees to the body from Jackson.
Brunner looking to throw knees to the head but Jackson is blocking nicely.
Brunner is trying to break free.
Brunner is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jackson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Brunner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brunner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brunner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Brunner has wrist control.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Brunner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jackson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jackson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jackson!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brunner throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
You can see the frustration on Brunner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brunner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Brunner manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow.

Jackson is looking for a kimura here.

Jackson is looking to advance position but Brunner has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Brunner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jackson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jackson!

Brunner will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Brunner is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Brunner flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brunner is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.
Brunner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Brunner wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.
Jackson is nestled in close to Brunner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lance Jackson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Brunner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Brunner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brunner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brunner is working for an americana but Jackson has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Brunner was thinking about the submission.

Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brunner's guard.
Brunner lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackson!

Brunner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jackson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brunner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jackson is looking to control Brunner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jackson avoid being mounted?

Brunner postures up and lands a big shot to Jackson's brow.

Brunner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Brunner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Brunner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mike Brunner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Brunner sits in half guard.

Jackson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brunner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Brunner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Brunner persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brunner is on top in guard.

Brunner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brunner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well.

Brunner is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brunner.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brunner pulls his head out easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson makes his way to full guard, as Brunner worked for a kimura.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Brunner.
I think Brunner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
