The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bones.
Bones throws a solid leg kick but Schultz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bones.
Bones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schultz looks for a takedown but Bones sprawls well.

Schultz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
