Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ribeiro Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Romero!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Romero or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie which made him look bad.
Romero wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Romero fails with the takedown.
Romero misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ribeiro Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Romero.

Gracie scores a takedown into full mount!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Gracie has control of Romero's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Romero regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Romero turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.

Gracie working for a triangle but Romero defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Romero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Romero tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.

Romero drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Romero off! Romero jumps back into Gracie's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Romero wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Romero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.

Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Romero should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Romero should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
