PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Camarano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Camarano's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Stand tall. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Camarano looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Camarano can't do much from the bottom here.
Camarano tries to buck Jenkins off but Jenkins is having none of it.
Camarano manages to get back to half guard.
Camarano tries to kick Jenkins off but Jenkins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Camarano is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jenkins pulls his head out easily.
Camarano tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Still in half guard, Jenkins seems content to control.
Jenkins is looking to advance position but Camarano won't allow it.
Jenkins is thwarting Camarano's attempts to control the position.
Jenkins is taking a breather. Camarano says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jenkins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Camarano looks like he's trying to stand up.
Camarano is breathing heavily.

Jenkins is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Camarano defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The fight stays on the outside here - Camarano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jenkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Camarano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jenkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Camarano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dave Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Jenkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Camarano, pushing him back against the cage.

Camarano dives in and grabs Jenkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes down on Camarano's head and hops out.
Camarano tries for a takedown but Jenkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jenkins is working for a kimura but Camarano is defending it quite comfortably.
Jenkins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jenkins pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Camarano tries to hold on but Jenkins postures up.

Camarano keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jenkins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Camarano is desperately trying to improve his position but Jenkins has a good base and remains in mount.

Camarano is trying to reverse the position but instead Jenkins has taken his back - oops!
Jenkins biding his time, looking for the opening.
Jenkins is not going to allow Camarano to sit and survive in this position.
Jenkins is hanging on to Camarano's back as he tries to escape.
Jenkins is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Jenkins is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Jenkins gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Jenkins gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Jenkins apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Jenkins leaves Camarano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well Jenkins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
