Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sjonnie Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sjonnie Shadow could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mauricio Rua's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shadow.
Shadow tries to close the distance and clinch but Rua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shadow goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rua fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shadow avoids it really well and circles away.
Shadow looks to score with a jab to the body but Rua is just out of range.

Shadow wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.

Sjonnie Shadow has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Shadow tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rua manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Shadow counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Shadow wants to control but Rua is keeping busy.

Rua is stalling here. Shadow is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rua seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shadow has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mauricio Rua will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shadow manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rua on his heels. He'll look to pass Rua's guard now, I'm sure.

Shadow is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Shadow wants to get up but he can't break Rua's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Shadow lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively.
Rua shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shadow defends it nicely.

Shadow tries to sprawl but Rua drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Shadow tries to kick Rua off but Rua keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rua is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shadow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rua.
Mauricio Rua has got the better of the ground game so far.
Shadow trying to control but Rua postures up.
Rua has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Shadow defend it? Rua steps over the head and cranks it - Shadow is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rua!
