PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Justin Credible (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ripp Buster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Credible comes to the cage accompanied by The Enemy - Godsmack. Buster has chosen Waco Jesus as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Credible!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ripp Buster!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Buster as he checks the leg kick.

Credible closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buster to the mat! Buster manages to get full guard.
Credible stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Credible really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Credible stays in close to Buster's body and controls the position.
Credible trying to control but Buster is working from the bottom.
Credible slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Credible pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Buster is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buster being controlled here, momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Justin Credible just wasn't active enough.
Credible fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Buster tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Credible counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Buster tries to get to full guard but Credible has control of the leg.
Well, if Credible is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Credible takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buster wants to improve his position but Credible is controlling well.
Credible working Buster over with strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Credible in particular looking to stall.
Buster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Credible. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Credible working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Credible stalling.
Credible trying to mount his opponent but Buster defends it.

Credible is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Buster is just riding it out for now. Credible eventually gives up the hold.
Credible is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Buster trying to hold on to Credible's head to control him but Credible postures up.
Buster is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Credible's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Credible's back!
Credible turns into Buster and is now in his guard.
Credible is stalling in the full guard.
Credible seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Buster for as long as he can get away with.

Buster wants to sweep but no luck.
Credible will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Credible controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Credible trying to control but Buster is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Buster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Justin Credible.
Credible dives in and grabs Buster's left leg, looking for a takedown. Buster pushes down on Credible's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Credible throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buster's waist but Buster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Credible off to one side.

and Credible counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Credible.
Buster looking for a sweep. Not yet Buster, not yet.
Credible lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Credible throws a big elbow that misses.
Credible sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Buster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Buster can do anything to dispel that myth.

Credible postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Credible tries to free his leg and advance position but Buster is retaining full guard.
Buster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Credible's guard.
Buster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Credible looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Justin Credible overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Credible looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buster is one step ahead there.
Credible wants to improve his position but instead Buster has moved into half guard.
Credible keeping hold of Buster's head, controlling as best he can.
Credible is trying to stand back up but Buster is controlling him

Credible tries to get to full guard but Buster has control of the leg.
Credible is working hard here to advance position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Credible fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buster, pushing him back against the cage.

Buster lands a knee to the head.
Credible changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Buster fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Credible shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Buster manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Credible wants to pass the guard but Buster is keeping the position.
Credible seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Credible is controlling him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Buster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Credible postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Credible is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Credible throws a strike but Buster rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Credible has control of Buster's left arm, preventing Buster from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Credible's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Buster throws a quick inside leg kick.
Buster avoids the head kick by Credible.
Buster wants to clinch but Credible slips to the side

and Credible counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Buster's guard now.
Credible wants to control from the top but Buster keeps moving.
Credible is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Buster can do to turn this around?
Credible is in close to Buster's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Buster keeping full guard, as Credible tries to pass.
Credible throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Buster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Credible controls the pace.
Credible stopping the sweep attempt from Buster.

Justin Credible has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Credible gets a clinch.
Buster throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Credible blocks it with crossed arms.
Credible has had enough of the clinch but Buster keeps him there for the moment.
Credible tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Buster just stands there and leans against the cage.
Buster connects with a nasty looking knee right to Credible's face.

Credible breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buster fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Credible throws a right hand that Buster ducks under and follows up with a left that Buster also avoids with ease.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Buster tries to clinch but Credible moves out of range.

Buster gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Credible passes Buster's left leg - he's now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Buster is trying to maintain the position but Credible is very close to passing his half guard.
Credible throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Credible working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Buster's thigh. Buster counters though and makes it back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Credible is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Credible won't allow Buster to sweep him here.
Credible engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Buster wants to sweep here but Credible controlling him for the moment.
Credible is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Buster pushes Credible off looking to stand but Credible dives back in and keeps control.
Buster is looking to control Credible's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Buster avoid being mounted?

Justin Credible is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Credible manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Buster on his heels. He'll look to pass Buster's guard now, I'm sure.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Credible, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
