Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Johnson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Liquid Snake!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson fails to land the takedown.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Snake.
Snake fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Snake gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Snake sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Johnson misses with a looping left.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Johnson blocks a jab.
Snake attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.
Tim Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snake dips to his left and cracks Johnson with an uppercut!
Johnson slips under a jab from Snake.
Snake lands with a nice body punch.
Johnson misses with a straight right.
A big right from Johnson misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Snake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
Johnson is nestled in close to Snake, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Snake's temple.
Snake wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Snake looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Johnson works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Snake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johnson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Johnson grinds an elbow into Snake's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snake regains half guard.
Snake is trying to get back to full guard.
Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Johnson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Snake wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snake bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.
Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Snake trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Snake looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Johnson is defending well. Snake quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Johnson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Snake celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Liquid Snake!
Liquid Snake is the new light heavyweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, Liquid Snake thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
