The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shine swivels and escapes.

Shine throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Shaw counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shaw with the ground and pound but Shine regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Shaw is trying to work for a kimura but Shine is defending well.
Shine wants to get back to his feet.
Shaw wants to control but Shine is keeping him busy.

Shaw thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Shine lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Shaw moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Shaw is stalling here. Shine is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shaw seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Shine has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Shaw's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shine connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shaw scrambles back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sun Shine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shaw feints and as Shine raises his hands in defense, Shaw changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shine feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shaws jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
